HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital earns 2015 Press Ganey Guardian of Excellence Award

Chippewa Falls, WI – HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital recently earned the 2015 Press Ganey Guardian of Excellence Award, which was given to hospital leaders on November 11 at the Press Ganey National Client Conference in Orlando, FL.

The hospital achieved this distinction by reaching the 95th percentile for patient experience in the hospital’s emergency department for one year. The award is given annually to honor the hospitals that are in the top five percent in the country in patient satisfaction.

St. Joseph’s Hospital uses the national company Press Ganey, an independent third party, to coordinate the hospital’s patient satisfaction surveys. Patient satisfaction surveys are used to capture patient feedback, rate patient experiences, improve hospital performance and improve communications with patients.

“Achieving the award again recognizes the ongoing and overall quality performance standards taking place at St. Joseph’s each and every day,” said Joan Coffman, president and CEO, St. Joseph’s Hospital. “The Emergency Department can be a stressful environment for patient care. To be honored for sustained, stellar patient satisfaction scores over an extended period of time acknowledges the professional competencies of our ED staff and the personal level of care they provide to our patients and their families often under difficult circumstances.”
