Aurora BayCare Medical Center only hospital in state of Wisconsin named among nation’s top 50 hospitals for cardiovascular services

Marks fourth time Aurora BayCare has received honor
Green Bay, Wis. – Aurora BayCare Medical Center has been selected as the state’s only hospital to earn the 2015 50 Top Cardiovascular Hospitals award, part of the Truven Health 100 Top Hospitals national benchmark series. It marks the fourth time Aurora BayCare has been selected for the honor.
Selection for the 50 Top Cardiovascular Hospitals award reflects excellence in cardiovascular services benefitting patients, their families, employers and the entire community. Aurora BayCare outperformed peer hospitals in inpatient and extended outcomes, clinical processes, efficiency, and cost for the two most common cardiovascular conditions (heart attacks and heart failure) and most common interventions.
“Nationally, this award is the gold standard for cardiovascular services. We’re extremely proud to receive this honor as it speaks to the dedication of our caregivers and high quality of care we’re able to provide patients,” said Alexander Roitstein, MD, medical director of cardiothoracic surgery at Aurora BayCare.
Award winners are selected using public data sources and peer-reviewed methodologies.
“The fact we are the only hospital in Wisconsin to be honored with this award speaks to how difficult it is to meet the level of quality and value required for such an honor,” said David Mathias, MD, an interventional cardiologist at Aurora BayCare. “This honor positions Aurora BayCare Medical Center as a national leader in cardiology and the place to go for cardiac care in northeast Wisconsin.”
