Senate committee mulls EpiPen, dental records bills

EpiPens are self-injectable devices that contain epinephrine. The auto-injectors counteract potentially life-threatening allergic reactions. EpiPens, which come in packs of two, have risen sharply in price and now retail for about $600.

State senators are mulling legislation allowing people with proper training to administer devices that counteract severe allergic reactions in emergencies and requiring the controlling party in dental practices to maintain patient records for at least 10 years.
