State health officials announced on Wednesday three more confirmed Wisconsin cases of the new coronavirus.
A patient in Waukesha County tested positive after being exposed while traveling in the United States and abroad. They’re isolated at home.
One patient in Fond du Lac was exposed while traveling in the United States, while the other was exposed when traveling internationally. One is hospitalized, while the other is at home.
“Additional confirmed cases of COVID-19 weren’t unexpected as this illness spreads across the country,” State Health Officer Jeanne Ayers said in a statement.
The Department of Health Services also issued new guidance for travelers who were on a cruise in Egypt, saying that if they have symptoms like a fever or respiratory illness they should contact providers.
Those who were on the cruise should call their health department and quarantine as well as those who’ve been in close contact with someone who was on the cruise and is ill.
DHS officials announced two other cases this week, one in Dane County and the other in Pierce County. A Dane County case reported last month has recovered.
State health officials asked those traveling to places where there is community spread of the illness to self-quarantine and monitor for symptoms.
