DHS: 6,473 new cases, 78 more deaths

The Department of Health Services reported 6,473 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, for a total of 344,945.

There were 78 more deaths, bringing the state’s death toll to 2,954.

An additional 19,138 people were tested, for a total of 2,407,136. DHS considers 75,649 cases active.

The seven-day average for new daily cases is 6,254. The seven-day average for new daily deaths is 54.

As of Thursday, the seven-day positivity rate by person was 31.7 percent, while the seven-day positivity rate by test was 14.8 percent.

There were 23 patients at the surge facility in West Allis on Friday morning.
