Wisconsin surpasses 500,000 COVID-19 cases

Wisconsin surpassed half a million COVID-19 cases on Friday.

Department of Health Services officials reported 3,474 new cases, for a total of 502,012.

Forty more deaths brought the state’s death toll to 5,119.

An additional 10,602 people were tested, for a total of 2,892,550.

DHS considers 29,688 cases active.

The seven-day average for daily new cases is 2,715, up from 2,158 a week ago.

The seven-day average for daily new deaths is 36, up from 27 a week ago.

As of Thursday, the seven-day average positivity rate by person was 29.8 percent, down from 30.7 percent last week. The rate by test was 11.1 percent, up from 10.4 percent a week ago.

There were no inpatients at the surge facility in West Allis, but four people were receiving Bamlanivimab infusion therapy.
