Wisconsin’s COVID-19 death toll has surpassed 6,000 people.
The Department of Health Services reported 28 more deaths on Friday, for a total of 6,020.
There were 1,266 new COVID-19 cases, for a total of 548,221.
An additional 5,726 people were tested, for a total of 3,075,783.
DHS considers 16,038 cases active.
The seven-day average for daily new cases is 1,186, down 43 from Thursday and 206 from a week ago.
The seven-day average for daily new deaths is 23, down three from Thursday and down eight from a week ago.
As of Thursday, the seven-day positivity rate by person was 18.7 percent, down 0.4 percentage points from Wednesday and 1 percentage point from a week ago.
The rate by test was 4.7 percent, down 0.1 percentage points from Wednesday and 0.9 percentage point from a week ago.
No patients were at the surge facility
in West Allis on Friday.
DHS reported
that 143,610 Wisconsinites completed their COVID-19 vaccinations as of Thursday.
