DHS: 709 new COVID-19 cases, five more deaths 

The Department of Health Services reported 709 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, for a total of 589,213 cases.

The state’s death toll is at 6,703 people, after DHS reported five more deaths.

An additional 4,738 Wisconsinites have been tested for COVID-19, for a total of 3,381,920.

DHS considers 9,195 cases active.

The seven-day average for daily new cases is 754, down 54 from Thursday and 10 from a week ago.

The seven-day average for daily new deaths is four, the same as Thursday and down two from a week ago.

As of Thursday, the seven-day positivity rate by test was 3.6 percent, down 0.1 percentage points from Wednesday and 0.2 percentage points from a week earlier, per preliminary data from DHS
