More than 2 million Wisconsinites fully vaccinated against COVID-19

More than 2 million Wisconsinites have completed their COVID-19 vaccination series.

Per state data, 43.4 percent of the state’s population, or 2,527,645 Wisconsinites, have received at least one dose of a vaccine, and 34.5 percent, or 2,009,464 Wisconsinites, have completed their vaccination series.

Wisconsin vaccinators administered 4,479,776 doses of COVID-19 vaccine through Sunday.

They gave 4,074 doses on Sunday, with a seven-day average of 32,416 daily shots.

The Department of Health Services reported 675 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday and 405 on Sunday, for a total of 599,227.

The state’s death toll is at 6,839 people. DHS reported 18 deaths on Saturday and a correction of negative two deaths on Sunday.

So far, 3,453,607 Wisconsinites have been tested. DHS considers 8,765 cases active.

The seven-day average for daily new cases is 649, up one from Saturday and 46 from a week ago.

The seven-day average for daily new deaths is 12, the same as Saturday and up five from a week ago.

As of Saturday, the seven-day positivity rate by test was 2.9 percent, down 0.1 percentage points from Friday and 0.2 percentage points from a week earlier, per preliminary data from DHS.

Per the Wisconsin Hospital Association, 315 COVID-19 patients were hospitalized on Sunday, down 22 from Saturday and 35 from a week ago.

There were 102 in intensive care units, up four from Saturday and down 11 from a week ago.
