DHS reports lowest number of new COVID-19 cases since early March

The Department of Health Services reported 205 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday, for a total of 603,303.

It’s the lowest daily case count since March 8, when DHS reported 178 new cases.

The state’s death toll remains at 6,904. DHS didn’t report any additional deaths on Monday.

An additional 2,305 Wisconsinites have been tested for COVID-19, for a total of 3,486,162.

DHS considers 7,831 cases active.

The seven-day average for daily new cases is 532, down 21 from Sunday and 114 from a week ago.

The seven-day average for daily new deaths is nine, the same as Sunday and down three from a week ago.

As of Sunday, the seven-day positivity rate by test was 3.1 percent, down 0.1 percentage points from Friday and 0.2 percentage points from a week ago, per preliminary data from DHS.

Wisconsin vaccinators administered 4,707,331 doses of COVID-19 vaccine through Sunday.

Per state data, 44.4 percent of the state’s population, or 2,586,346 Wisconsinites, have received at least one dose of a vaccine, and 37.4 percent, or 2,179,950 Wisconsinites, have completed their vaccination series.

They gave 953 doses on Sunday, with a seven-day average of 27,498 daily shots.
