Bill allowing gig economy companies to offer benefit accounts draws workers’ comp. concerns

DoorDash, Uber and other app-based companies support a bill that would allow them to offer portable benefit accounts for their drivers, but Democratic lawmakers and a union urged Wednesday that the plan move through a state advisory council on workers’ compensation.
