Earlier this week, Sen. Tammy Baldwin, D-Wis., unveiled legislation that she says would provide the Department of Veteran Affairs with the tools it needs to combat opioid abuse. The bill is named after U.S. Marine Veteran Jason Simcakoski, who died at the Tomah VA Medical Center last year as a result of mixed drug toxicity. (WHN, 6/19)
