MILWAUKEE (5/27/14) – Thanks to the generous support of Milwaukee’s Hometown Rock 96.5 WKLH listeners and donors throughout Southeast Wisconsin, The 18th annual Dave & Carole Miracle Marathon for Children’s Hospital raised more than $1.3 million. WKLH broadcast the 36-hour radiothon live from Children’s Hospital May 21-22. The radiothon is Children’s Hospital’s highest grossing fundraiser and has raised more than $22 million since its inception in 1998.
Funds raised through Miracle Marathon support vital Children’s Hospital resources and services. Throughout the two-day radiothon, WKLH’s Dave Luczak and Carole Caine connected with patient families, hospital physicians, leaders and staff members to bring to light many of Children’s Hospital’s programs and services that impact the health of thousands of children in our community each year.
“I am astounded by the generosity of Dave and Carole’s loyal listeners and our entire community,” said Peggy Troy, chief executive officer, Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. “Thank you to Dave and Carole and everyone at 96.5 WKLH, our courageous patient families who shared their very personal stories of hope and everyone who volunteered their time and donated money to help ensure that the kids in our community have access to the best care.”
