Security Health Plan again ranks among top Medicare Advantage plans

MARSHFIELD – Security Health Plan of Wisconsin, Inc., has again been recognized among the nation’s leading health plans by Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services for its Medicare Advantage plans for 2015.

Security Health Plan received an overall rating of 4.5 in the 5-star rating that the federal agency uses to rank Medicare Advantage and Part D Prescription Drug plans.

“We all are extremely proud of our CMS rating because it demonstrates Security Health Plan’s commitment to providing the quality of services that our members deserve,” said Julie Brussow, chief executive officer at Security Health Plan.

The CMS ratings reflect the exceptional care members receive from doctors and other health professionals, she said. This in turn increases members’ satisfaction with their care and the service and helps Security Health Plan control the cost of our members’ care.

“We’re focused on improving the health and wellness of our members and providing support to those members who have acute and chronic health conditions,” she said. “Our nurse and social worker care managers and health coaches reach out to our members with phone calls and letters to make sure they have the resources and knowledge they need to be as healthy as possible.”

“Few Medicare health plans in the nation receive an overall rating of 4.5 or 5 stars,” Brussow said. “Our goal is to always attain the highest possible rating. So while we’re proud of this rating, we’ll continue looking at ways we can better serve our members.”

For 2016 Security Health Plan is offering five Medicare Advantage HMO plan options, three with Part D prescription drug coverage, that are designed to improve the quality of care members receive, increase members’ satisfaction with their care and service, and control the cost of care. Security Health Plan also offers a Medicare Medical Savings Account plan, Secure Saver (MSA), and a Medicare Supplement plan.

Medicare beneficiaries can enroll in a Medicare Advantage plan or make plan changes from Oct. 15 through Dec. 7. During this annual enrollment period, Security Health Plan is holding seminars throughout its service area where interested people can learn more about Medicare Advantage plans.

Security Health Plan has also opened nine Answer Centers where customers speak with a sales representative to review their Medicare Advantage options. They can also discuss their coverage with a member of our Customer Service team.
