MARSHFIELD – People enrolling in the Health Insurance Marketplace will be pleased that Security Health Plan is offering a variety of coverage options that offer reduced costs and access to high-quality providers.
“With a wide-choice of plan options that emphasize value and service, consumers can choose the insurance coverage that best fits their health care needs and the health care needs of their family,” said Marty Anderson, director of consumer marketing and member experience at Security Health Plan. “In the first two years of the Health Insurance Marketplace, 29,000 people have joined Security Health Plan.”
Open enrollment begins Nov. 1, 2015, and will continue through Jan. 31, 2016. However, to have coverage on Jan. 1, 2016, consumers must enroll by Dec. 15, 2015.
For 2016, Security Health Plan is expanding its popular Select exclusive provider network to nine additional counties – Ashland, Bayfield, Burnett, Douglas, Oneida, Portage, Washburn, Vilas and Wood. Select is a more affordable option in the counties in which it is offered. It also offers a top-notch selection of high-quality health care providers, including Marshfield Clinic, and now, Essentia Health in northwestern Wisconsin.
“Enrollment is easy through our website, but some people are more comfortable talking to an agent who can help them choose their best option,” Anderson said. “So this year we’ve opened nine Answer Centers, conveniently located throughout the region, where consumers can meet with an agent who will help them understand their options and choose the plan that’s right for them.”
Consumers can compare plan options, calculate their tax subsidy and enroll in a plan at www.securityhealth.org/myplans
Only insurance companies approved as a Qualified Health Plan are eligible to offer coverage through the Marketplace. And purchasing a plan through the Health Insurance Marketplace is the only way consumers can receive a tax credit to help meet health care costs.
“The Marketplace has made it easier for individuals and family to buy affordable health insurance, giving them better access to health care, something they may have gone years without,” Anderson said. “Security Health Plan is making it easier to enroll in the Marketplace with the tools and resources we’re making available to the public.”
