Stoughton Hospital President/CEO Terry Brenny named Stoughton Chamber of Commerce Business Person of the Year

On Wednesday, February 7th Stoughton Hospital President/CEO Terry Brenny was honored with the Stoughton Chamber of Commerce’s “Business Person of the Year” Award.

Stoughton Hospital has experienced significant growth and success under Brenny’s three decade tenure. He has led the organization through opening three satellite clinics, a conversion to electronic health records, initiated a limited minority affiliation with SSM Health of Wisconsin, and many construction and renovation projects, just to name a few accomplishments. The hospital continues to win many awards largely due to Brenny’s leadership.

Brenny has long been a supporter of the Stoughton Chamber. He served on the chamber board and he continually supports hospital staff to be involved in Chamber functions. Under Brenny’s leadership the hospital supports and has been involved with chamber events such as Syttende Mai, Coffee Break Festival, Business Expo, Art Walk, Victorian Holidays, Grape Expectations, Golf Outings and more.

Brenny is a dedicated member of Stoughton Rotary, participating with weekly Rotary meetings and many Rotarian events. He’s an active member at St. Anne’s – volunteers to drive people in need for free meal service. Brenny helped initiate the Stoughton Wellness Coalition – which remains today and is working to improve health in the Stoughton community in partnership with the Stoughton Area School District and City of Stoughton. He has been an avid supporter of Stoughton Hospital Foundation, START- Stoughton Area Resource Team, Shalom Free Health Clinic, Food Pantries, American Heart Association, Blood Drives, Food for Kidz and most important he encourages staff and the hospital to be involved in their community.

Stoughton Hospital was also presented with the “Large Business of the Year” Award. The hospital is a major player in developing the quality of life in Stoughton. The hospital has been providing “Trusted Care, Close to Home” for close to 115 years.

The hospital’s vision is to grow to meet the changing needs of the communities they serve and become their health partner of choice.

That vision has led them to not only provide excellent health care to the Stoughton Community, but to also be recognized nationally. Recently, they were named one of America’s 100 Best Hospitals for Patient Experience by the Women’s Choice Awards, presented the HomeCare Elite Top Agency award for being in the top 25 percent of home health agencies in the country and received the Press Ganey Guardian of Excellence Award for reaching the 95th percentile for employee engagement.
