Officials reported the first deaths from COVID-19 in Wisconsin Thursday evening and Friday morning.
A male in his 50s from Fond Du Lac County and a male in his 90s from Ozaukee County died from COVID-19, according to a Thursday statement from Gov. Tony Evers.
The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s Office said Friday morning that it’s investigating the death of a 66-year-old male from complications of COVID-19 infection. The Milwaukee resident had been hospitalized for several days before death.
“Our hearts go out to all the loved ones affected by these deaths, and to all those suffering from this virus,” Evers said in a Thursday statement.
There were 155 confirmed cases across 21 counties as of Thursday afternoon, according to the Department of Health Services. There have been 2,192 negative tests.
The agency also identified community spread in Brown County. COVID-19 is also spreading in Dane, Kenosha and Milwaukee counties.
