Registration open to all
MADISON, WI (June 3, 2024) —– The Wisconsin Collaborative for Healthcare Quality (WCHQ) has announced that registration is now open for its chronic diseases seminar. With the theme, “Breaking Barriers: Advancing Care for Chronic Disease, A Focus on Cardiometabolic Health,” the event will take place Thursday, August 15, 2024 in Madison, Wisconsin.
“The link between some of our most prevalent chronic illnesses is evident,” said WCHQ President/CEO Gabrielle Rude, PhD. “Examining the relationships between diabetes, heart disease, obesity and chronic kidney disease will provide the insights needed for increased prevention.”
The keynote address will be given by Mikhail Kosiborod, MD. Dr. Kosiborod is Executive Director of the Cardiometabolic Center Alliance, Vice President of Research at St. Luke’s MidAmerica Heart Institute and an internationally recognized expert in the field of cardiometabolic disease. His presentation will focus on quality care and outcomes for patients with cardiometabolic disease.
In addition, former NFL player and two-time Super Bowl Champion Ottis Anderson will share his personal experience living with type 2 diabetes.
Presentation topics rounding out the day include breakout sessions about the influences of environment and social determinants of health on weight loss; social determinants and heart disease and CKD screening and treatment in diabetes care.
