Children’s Wisconsin plans pediatric urgent care in Appleton

New urgent care will serve kids of all ages, seven days a week with care close to home

Children’s Wisconsin will add pediatric urgent care in its Appleton Clinic in fall 2025. Urgent care services for kids of all ages, from newborns to adolescents, will be available seven days a week at the clinic, providing a timely and convenient new option for families.

Through Connected for Kids, a pediatric joint venture between Children’s Wisconsin, Bellin Health and ThedaCare, work is underway to improve the health and well-being of children and adolescents in Northeast and Central Wisconsin, as well as the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. This partnership is making a meaningful impact on care for area kids through numerous initiatives, such as increasing access to care closer to home and collaborating on pediatric best practices, including for delivery of urgent care services.

“Adding urgent care to our Appleton Clinic helps provide the right care at the right time and place for minor illnesses and injuries, when an emergency department visit is not needed. It also gives families access to pediatric experts in a child-friendly space,” said Matthew Buelow, MD, medical director of the Northeast Region for Children’s Wisconsin and medical director for Connected for Kids. “We have been serving the families of the northeast region for more than 20 years, and adding a new pediatric-focused urgent care option for children of all ages in the area is another way we’re offering services closer to home.”

Located at 2575 E. Evergreen Dr., the Children’s Wisconsin Appleton Clinic currently houses more than 60 pediatric providers from more than 20 specialties. Pediatric urgent care providers and staff will be added to support the new urgent care services. The clinic is expected to be staffed with a combination of pediatricians and employees from Children’s Wisconsin and ThedaCare, through the Connected for Kids partnership. Imaging, lab and child life services at the clinic also will be available to support urgent care patients.
