Milwaukee Health Commissioner: The state of our health, and health of our state

The just-released 2011 County Health Rankings show that among Wisconsin's 72 counties, Milwaukee County ranks 69th (fourth-worst) for health outcomes - such as premature death and poor physical or mental health. If it were its own county, the city of Milwaukee would rank even lower. The rankings also show Milwaukee County ranks poorly in four groups of factors that have been proven to play a critical role in shaping health: access to quality health care (35th), physical environment (57th), health behaviors (64th) and socioeconomic factors (71st).
