DHS: About 20 percent of Wisconsinites have received at least one COVID-19 vaccine shot

Nearly 20 percent of Wisconsinites have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Wisconsin vaccinators administered 1,837,885 doses of COVID-19 vaccine through Wednesday.

Per state data, 19.7 percent of the state’s population, or 1,149,800 Wisconsinites, have received first doses, and 11.1 percent, or 647,108 Wisconsinites, have completed the vaccine series.

The Department of Health Services reported 502 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, for a total of 568,352.

The state’s death toll remains at 6,524 people, after no new deaths were reported.

An additional 4,195 Wisconsinites were tested for COVID-19, for a total of 3,227,003.

DHS considers 6,470 cases active.

The seven-day average for daily new cases is 363, down 25 from Wednesday and 159 from a week ago.

The seven-day average for daily new deaths is eight, down one from Wednesday and three from a week ago.

As of Wednesday, the seven-day positivity rate by test was 2 percent, the same as Tuesday and down 0.3 percentage points from a week earlier, per preliminary data from DHS.
