Mercy awaits decision on Illinois hospital

An Illinois board is expected to decide in May whether Janesville-based Mercy Health System can build a $200 million, 128-bed hospital and clinic in Crystal Lake, Ill. The Illinois Department of Public Health, which is reviewing the proposal, last week conducted a public hearing that stretched more than six hours and required overflow parking lots at Crystal Lake City Hall.
