Towns seek health center grants

The Sauk City-Prairie du Sac area and Gays Mills hope to get federally funded health centers to treat the underserved, joining 17 such centers in Wisconsin, including Access Community Health Centers in Madison. The towns applied this month for federal planning grants to become community health centers, also called federally qualified health centers. The grants, to be awarded this summer, would allow the communities to take further steps toward that goal. (WISCONSIN STATE JOURNAL, 4/12)
