State sees success with disabled workers

Wisconsin is no longer on the forefront of efforts to move people with disabilities into the competitive job market, but it has bright spots and success. The state Department of Health Services provided $700,000 in grant funding in 2008 to 17 sheltered workshops, segregated facilities that employ individuals with disabilities, to increase their focus on supporting integrated employment.
