UWSP hopes to contribute to Medical College of Wisconsin

The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point believes it could be a great resource for a medical school that is considering a facility in central Wisconsin. The Milwaukee-based Medical College of Wisconsin announced Tuesday that it is considering north central Wisconsin -- specifically Wausau, Stevens Point and Marshfield -- as one of eight possible regions for a new school that would teach and train primary care physicians. State Medicaid programs face $141 million shortfall, report says
