Epic draws mixed reviews from industry

There's a reason Epic Systems Corp. keeps building offices: The Verona electronic medical records company keeps signing major clients, faster than its competitors, nearly doubling the number of customers and employees in the past five years. But as Epic hurtles toward the top, some are questioning whether the type of technology Epic and its rivals offer may be stifling innovation in health care and keeping medical costs high.
