Most Wisconsin Critical Access Hospitals would lose designation under HHS proposal

A recommendation late last week from the federal government to reconsider Medicare payment status for Critical Assess Hospitals that don't meet certain distance requirements could result in 53 of the state's 58 hospitals with the designation losing their status, says the Wisconsin Hospital Association.
