Medicaid-backed home care agencies may struggle to afford insuring workers
Steve Mercaitis and others representing Medicaid dependent home and community-based providers met earlier this year with Cindy Mann, deputy administrator at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, to express concern that home care worker agencies paid by Medicaid don't make enough to provide their employees health insurance. Unless these providers receive a reprieve from the federal health reform law's coverage mandate, they'll have to cut services and potentially lay off workers. (WHN, 5/16)
