Medicaid deficit grows to $93 million
Higher than expected enrollment of childless adults living in poverty has helped increase the state's Medicaid budget gap to $93 million in state tax dollars through the end of the biennium, according to a new report from the Department of Health Services. That's up from a predicted $20.3 million deficit in March. In state and federal funding, the department needs to find $232.5 million in savings. (WHN, 7/7)
