Marshfield Clinic Health System Foundation announces major gifts

Marshfield – The newly-created Marshfield Clinic Health System Foundation has announced several major gifts to benefit patient care and research.

Gifts announced in October include:

  • $50,000 from Pat and Floyd Hamus of Marshfield, to create a children’s play area in Marshfield Center’s Ambulatory Surgery Center.
  • $100,000 from Mike and Claudia Smith of Stevens Point, personally and through Dueling Against Cancer/Ameriprise, to name the patient commons area in the new Marshfield Clinic Stevens Point Cancer Center.
  • $100,000 from Dan O’Connell, Alliance Collection Agencies, Inc., Marshfield, to support precision medicine research.

The new Heiman Family Consult Room, General Surgery, Marshfield Center, was dedicated in honor of Joellen Heiman in October.

“We are so grateful for the extraordinary generosity of all our donors, including those who are inspired to give because of Marshfield Clinic’s 100th anniversary,” said Teri Wilczek, chief philanthropy officer, MCHS Foundation. “Their contributions to Marshfield Clinic are significant in helping us enrich lives as we look forward to the next 100 years.

“Philanthropy is a vital part of Marshfield Clinic Health System’s mission. It provides an opportunity for our grateful patients to thank their care team, helps ensure our research and education programs remain strong and gives our providers resources they need to care for their patients.”

Over 37,000 donors have donated nearly $100 million to patient care, research and education programs the past 100 years at Marshfield Clinic. The new MCHS Foundation will align with MCHS strategic initiatives and direct all fundraising for its entities.
