ProHealth Regency Senior Communities to expand New Berlin campus
New Berlin, Wis. – ProHealth Care will expand the New Berlin campus of ProHealth Regency Senior Communities by building three large additions, nearly doubling the number of apartments available for area seniors.
The $20 million project will add 153 apartments. Upon completion, the New Berlin campus will have 308 senior living residences, 88 assisted living units and additional program and service space, all in one connected complex.
“The Regency in New Berlin has been at capacity since it opened in 1990,” said Debra Bertacchini, administrator of ProHealth Regency Senior Communities. “The three new wings will allow us to serve the growing senior population in a vibrant community that meets residents’ needs and supports their independence.”
Construction is expected to begin in July and occur in two phases over the next two years. Reservations for residences are now being accepted. Regency residents must be at least 62.
The New Berlin campus, at 13750 W. National Ave., is one of three ProHealth Regency Senior Communities. The others are at 777 N. Brookfield Road in Brookfield and at W181 S8540 Lodge Blvd. in Muskego. All three campuses offer a variety of apartment floor plans that range from standard suites to townhomes, as well as extensive space for programs and services.
The New Berlin project will include underground parking and additional common areas in each new wing. The exterior of the buildings will be similar in style to the current architecture.
The expansion will include:
- Fifteen one-bedroom and 30 two-bedroom units in a new northwest building along Sunnyslope Road, to open in fall 2018.
- Six one-bedroom and 51 two-bedroom units in a new northeast building along Fieldpointe Drive, to open in fall 2018.
- Twelve one-bedroom and 39 two-bedroom units in a new southwest building along Sunnyslope Road, to open in summer 2019.
Residents of the new wings will have access to campus amenities that include an on-site medical clinic staffed by ProHealth professionals; social, recreational and wellness programs; personal and professional care; daily meals; housekeeping and linen services; and transportation to ProHealth Medical Group clinics.
“We’re dedicated to providing everything our residents need to age in place within the most supportive and least restrictive environment possible,” Bertacchini said. “We’re excited about this project because it will allow us to serve more local seniors and further energize the Regency community with the addition of new residents.”
The new senior living units will have contemporary styling and feature technological and design upgrades that align with current trends. Outdoor areas will feature an entertainment and dining area with a bocce court and putting green.
The three Regency communities offer a range of specialized services that can be tailored to the needs of each resident:
- Supportive care – Services for residents who may need help caring for a spouse or require assistance after a hospitalization or while undergoing rehabilitation.
- Assisted living – Customized personal and professional support in assisted living units with 24/7 access to care, three meals a day and housekeeping services.
- Attended care – Services for residents with greater unscheduled needs, including 24/7 access to care, three meals a day and housekeeping services.
- Respite care – Assisted or attended care that provides relief for regular caregivers and access to campus amenities and services.
TDI Associates Inc. of Waukesha is the lead design, architecture and engineering partner for the New Berlin project.
