DHS: 1,117 new cases, 13 more deaths from COVID-19

Wisconsin broke a record on Tuesday for single-day increases of COVID-19, passing 1,000 confirmed cases reported in a day for the first time.

There were 1,117 new confirmed cases of COVID-19, bringing the total to 44,135 since the disease first appeared in the state, according to the Department of Health Services.

There were 859 deaths, an increase of 13.

There were 354 total COVID-19 patients in Wisconsin hospitals, down 13 from Monday, according to the Wisconsin Hospital Association. There were 101 in intensive care units, down nine from Monday.
