DHS: 1,052 more positive COVID-19 cases, 13 deaths
Wisconsin reported 1,052 more positive cases from COVID-19 in the state on Thursday, bringing the total to 45,899 cases.
There were 15,264 additional tests reported, with a 6.9 percent positive rate. There were 13 deaths, bringing the total to 878 deaths.
Department of Health Services Secretary-designee Andrea Palm said that a significant number of cases reported attending gatherings like parties, bars and barbecues. There’s also been an increase in cases among young people.
“In all confirmed cases within the past month here in Wisconsin, fully one third of them have been people in their 20s,” she told reporters Thursday. She urged people to stay at home, limit their interactions and wear a mask when going out.
