COVID-19 confirmed case count in Wisconsin approaches 50,000

The total number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 is nearing 50,000 in Wisconsin since the disease first appeared in the state.

The Department of Health Service reported a total of 48,827 confirmed cases on Sunday, an increase of 1,910 over the weekend.

There were 14 additional deaths over the weekend, bringing the total to 892.

There were 321 total COVID-19 patients, with 60 in intensive care units, as of Friday, according to the Wisconsin Hospital Association’s dashboard. The dashboard is being updated to accommodate recently announced data collection and reporting requirements from the Department of Health and Human Services.

“We are working diligently to make any disruptions in the dashboard as short and minimal as possible,” according to a note on the dashboard.
