Wisconsin passes 70,000 COVID-19 cases

Wisconsin surpassed 70,000 COVID-19 cases this weekend.

The Department of Health Services reported 70,462 confirmed cases as of Sunday afternoon, after adding 453 on Sunday and 950 on Saturday.

There were 13 deaths reported on Saturday and none on Sunday. The total number of deaths is 1,081.

DHS data show 1,185,611 people have been tested so far.

The seven-day positivity rate as of Sunday was 8 percent. And the seven-day average for new cases reported daily is 674.

According to the Wisconsin Hospital Association, 321 patients were hospitalized in the state as of Sunday, a decline of 12 from Saturday. There were 106 in intensive care units, a one-day decline of two.
