COVID-19 case count surpasses 75,000

The number of Wisconsinites with confirmed cases of COVID-19 surpassed 75,000 over the weekend.

The state reported 1,356 cases, for a total of 75,337. There were 819 cases reported Saturday and 537 on Sunday.

Nine additional deaths were reported, for a total of 1,122. There were 13,851 more people tested, for a total of 1,244,639.

The positivity rate among those with test results reported was 9.4 percent on Saturday and 10.5 percent on Sunday.

The seven-day positivity rate was 8.3 percent as of Sunday. There were an average of 696 new cases reported daily over the past week.

According to the Wisconsin Hospital Association, there were 287 total COVID-19 patients, an increase of 19 from the previous day and down 34 from the prior week. There were 104 in intensive care units, a single-day increase of 14 and a decline of two from last week.
