DHS: 981 new cases, eight more deaths

The Department of Health Services reported 981 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, for a total of 76,584 in the state.

There were eight additional deaths reported, for a total of 1,130.

An additional 11,844 people were tested, for a total of 1,260,301. The positivity rate for tests was 8.3 percent on Tuesday.

The average seven-day positivity rate was 8.5 percent and the seven-day average number of daily new cases was 727.

According to the Wisconsin Hospital Association, there were 295 COVID-19 patients hospitalized, an increase of five from Monday.

There were 100 COVID-19 patients in intensive care units, an increase of four.
