Wisconsin sets record for new daily COVID-19 cases

Wisconsin set a new record Thursday for daily COVID-19 cases, with 2,887 cases reported for a total of 125,161.

Twenty-one more deaths were reported, for a total of 1,348.

There were 14,361 more people tested, for a total of 1,559,882.

The seven-day average positivity rate by person tested was 17.4 percent, and the seven-day positivity rate for total tests per day was 9.3 percent.

The seven-day average for new daily cases is 2,405.

According to the Wisconsin Hospital Association, there were 669 total COVID-19 patients hospitalized in the state on Thursday, a decline of 14 from Wednesday. That was still up 141 from where hospitalizations were a week ago.

There were 208 COVID-19 patients in intensive care units, a record. That’s up 10 from Wednesday and 57 from the prior week.
