Wisconsin sets more COVID-19 records

Wisconsin set new records for COVID-19 trends over the weekend, as the number of cases in the state grew to 132,663 on Sunday.

The state set a new record for the number of daily new COVID-19 cases on Saturday, with 2,892 cases reported. There were 1,865 reported on Sunday.

There were 19 deaths reported on Saturday and five reported on Sunday. A total of 1,377 deaths have been reported so far.

As of Sunday, 1,598,376 have been tested for COVID-19.

As of Saturday, the seven-day positivity rate per person tested was 17.1 percent and the seven-day positivity rate per test was 9.1 percent.

The average number of new daily cases was 2,400 over the past week as of Sunday.

According to the Wisconsin Hospital Association, there were a record-breaking 714 COVID-19 hospitalizations on Sunday, an increase of 22 from Saturday and up 143 from the prior week.

The number in intensive care units fell six from Saturday, for a total of 194. That was up 28 from the same time last week.
