COVID-19 hospitalizations at all-time high

The number of COVID-19 patients in Wisconsin hospitals and intensive care units reached a new high on Monday.

There were 950 COVID-19 patients hospitalized, a single-day increase of 61 and up 168 from last week, according to the Wisconsin Hospital Association.

There were 240 COVID-19 patients in intensive care units, a single-day increase of five and up 31 from the prior week.

The Department of Health Services reported 1,956 new COVID-19 cases on Monday, bringing the state’s total to 152,192.

There were nine more deaths, for a total of 1,474.

A total of 1,697,884 people have been tested.

The seven-day positivity rate by person was 19.1 percent as of Sunday, and the seven-day positivity rate by test was 9.9 percent.

The seven-day average for daily new cases on Monday was 2,547.
