DHS: 4,870 new COVID-19 cases, 51 more deaths

The Department of Health Services reported 4,870 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday, for a total of 214,996.

Fifty-one additional deaths brought the state’s death toll to 1,948.

There were 13,174 more people tested, for a total of 2,018,461.

According to DHS, 44,896 cases were active.

The seven-day average for daily new cases was 4,128. The seven-day average for daily new deaths was 35.

As of Wednesday, the seven-day positivity rate per person was 27.1 percent, while the seven-day positivity rate per test was 14.2 percent.

The surge facility in West Allis had seven patients as of Thursday morning, DHS Deputy Secretary Julie Willems Van Dijk told reporters Thursday.
