Wisconsin sets new high for daily COVID-19 cases
Wisconsin set another new high Tuesday for most COVID-19 cases reported in a day.
There were 5,771 new COVID-19 cases, which brought the total to 238,067. The last record was set Saturday at 5,278 new cases.
Fifty-two more deaths were reported on Tuesday. The state’s death toll was at 2,102.
An additional 21,115 people were tested, for a total 2,100,029. According to the Department of Health Services, there were 50,689 active COVID-19 cases.
The seven-day average for daily new cases was 4,536.
The seven-day average for daily new deaths was 36.
As of Monday, the seven-day positivity rate by person was 30.8 percent. The seven-day positivity rate by test was 15.6 percent.
There were seven patients at the surge facility in West Allis as of Tuesday morning.
