Wisconsin passes 300,000 confirmed COVID-19 cases, sets new daily record

Wisconsin saw a record 7,777 new COVID-19 cases on Friday, as the state surpassed 300,000 total cases.

It was the fourth time in seven days that Wisconsin set a new record for daily new cases. There have now been 301,165 confirmed COVID-19 cases.

According to the Department of Health Services, there are 69,060 active cases.

The seven-day average for new daily cases is 6,442.

There were 58 additional deaths reported Friday, for a total of 2,573. The seven-day average is 45 daily new deaths.

An additional 18,510 new people were tested, for a total of 2,276,677 Wisconsinites.

As of Thursday, the seven-day average positivity rate by person was 36.2 percent, and the seven-day average positivity rate by test was 18.8 percent.

There were 15 patients at the surge facility in West Allis on Friday morning.
