Wisconsin sees more than 10,000 new COVID-19 cases

Wisconsin reported more than 10,000 new cases of COVID-19 over the weekend, bringing the state’s count to 312,369 confirmed cases as of Sunday.

The 11,204 cases over the weekend, with 5,146 reported Saturday and 6,058 reported Sunday, came after the state set a new daily high on Friday.

There have been 2,637 total deaths, after 52 were reported Saturday and 12 on Saturday.

And 2,096 COVID-19 patients were in Wisconsin hospitals as of Sunday, a one-day increase of 62 and up 236 from a week ago.

According to the Wisconsin Hospital Association, 445 COVID-19 patients were in intensive care units, up 10 from Saturday and 48 from last week.

So far, 2,313,608 total people have been tested in the state. According to the Department of Health Services, 69,594 cases are active.

The seven-day average for new daily cases is 6,422, and the seven-day average for new daily deaths is 46 deaths.

As of Saturday, the seven-day positivity rate by person was 36.5 percent, and the seven-day positivity rate was 18.4 percent.

There were 18 patients at the surge facility in West Allis on Sunday morning.
