DHS: 6,635 new COVID-19 cases, 83 more deaths
The Department of Health Services reported 6,635 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, for a total of 338,472.
There were 83 more deaths, for a total of 2,876.
An additional 19,220 people were tested, for a total of 2,387,998.
DHS considered 75,580 cases active.
The seven-day average for new daily cases is 6,440. The seven-day average for new daily deaths is 52.
As of Wednesday, the seven-day average positivity rate by person was 33.1 percent, and the seven-day average positivity rate by test was 16 percent.
There were 17 patients at the surge facility in West Allis on Thursday morning.
COVID-19 hospitalizations fell for the second day in a row, with 2,104 COVID-19 patients hospitalized. That was a one-day decline of 113. It was 27 more than at the same time last week.
Per the Wisconsin Hospital Association, there are 427 COVID-19 patients in intensive care units, a one-day decline of one and up three from last week.
