Wisconsin sets record for daily COVID-19 deaths

Wisconsin reported 107 deaths among COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, a record for daily deaths.

The state’s death toll is now at 3,420 people.

An additional 4,078 new COVID-19 cases were reported, for a total of 391,313 cases.

The Department of Health Services said 10,492 more people were tested, for a total of 2,547,723.

DHS considers 68,406 cases active.

The seven-day average for new daily cases is 3,905.

The seven-day average for new daily deaths is 44.

As of Monday, the seven-day positivity rate by person was 30.1 percent, while the seven-day positive rate by test was 13 percent.

There were seven patients at the surge facility in West Allis as of Tuesday morning.

According to the Wisconsin Hospital Association, the number of hospitalized COVID-19 patients dropped by 18 to 1,827. That was 159 fewer patients than at the same point last week.

The number of COVID-19 patients in intensive care units increased by 20 to 415, which was 21 fewer than last week.
