DHS: 3,501 new COVID-19 cases, 54 more deaths
Health officials reported 3,501 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, for a total of 442,396.
Fifty-four more deaths brought the state’s total to 4,122.
An additional 7,299 people were tested, for a total of 2,702,188.
The Department of Health Services considers 44,076 cases active.
The seven-day average for daily new cases is 3,421. For daily new deaths, it’s 45.
At the same point last week, there were 3,876 daily new cases and 55 new deaths.
As of Monday, the seven-day positivity rate by person was 27.5 percent, down 3 percent from last week.
The seven-day positivity rate by test was 10.6 percent, down 2.1 percent from last week.
Five patients were at the surge facility in West Allis on Tuesday morning.
Per the Wisconsin Hospital Association, there were 1,461 COVID-19 hospitalizations, a decline of 10 from Monday and down 95 from last week.
Twelve more COVID-19 patients were reported in intensive care units, for a total of 331. That’s up six from the same point last week.
