DHS reports 1,435 new COVID-19 cases, eight deaths

The Department of Health Services reported 1,435 new COVID-19 cases on Monday, for a total of 458,612.

Eight more deaths were reported, for a total of 4,425.

An additional 6,502 Wisconsinites were tested, for a total of 2,757,877.

DHS considers 35,498 cases active.

The seven-day average for daily new cases is 2,816, down 693 from last week.

The seven-day average for daily new deaths is 51, up four from last week.

As of Sunday, the seven-day positivity rate by person was 26.5 percent, down 1.5 percent from last week. The rate by test was 9 percent, down 1.7 percent.

There were three patients at the surge facility in West Allis on Monday morning.

Per the Wisconsin Hospital Association, COVID-19 hospitalizations ticked up in the state on Monday. There were 1,308 COVID-19 patients in Wisconsin hospitals, up 40 from Sunday and down 163 from last week.

There were 272 in intensive care units, down 20 from Sunday and 47 from the same point last week.
