DHS: 1,407 new COVID-19 cases, nine more deaths

Health officials reported 1,407 new COVID-19 cases on Monday, for a total of 487,938.

Nine more deaths brought the state’s total to 4,884 deaths.

An additional 3,912 Wisconsinites were tested, for a total of 2,853,618.

The Department of Health Services considers 26,389 cases active.

The seven-day average for daily new cases is 2,255, up from 1,934 a week ago.

The seven-day average for daily new deaths is 25, down from 41 a week ago.

As of Sunday, the seven-day positivity rate by person was 31.5 percent, up from 24.8 percent last week.

The seven-day positivity rate by test on Sunday was 10.7 percent, an increase from 8.3 percent last week.

No patients were receiving care at the surge facility in West Allis.

According to the Wisconsin Hospital Association, there were 1,122 COVID-19 patients hospitalized in the state, up 53 from Sunday and nine from the same point last week.

There were 231 in intensive care units, up six from Sunday and down six from last week.
