More than 64,000 Wisconsinites finish COVID-19 vaccination series

More than 64,000 Wisconsinites have completed their COVID-19 vaccination series as of Sunday.

According to the Department of Health Services, 64,364 state residents have completed the series. There were 345,017 doses administered in Wisconsin as of Sunday.

DHS reported 946 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday, for a total of 533,917.

Eight more deaths brought the state’s death toll to 5,699.

An additional 4,199 Wisconsinites were tested for a total of 3,011,505.

DHS considers 22,041 cases active.

The seven-day average for daily new cases is 1,577, down 19 from Sunday and 498 from a week ago.

The seven-day average for daily new deaths is 33, down one from Sunday and 11 from a week ago.

As of Sunday, the seven-day positivity rate by person was 20.6 percent, up 0.2 percentage from Saturday and down 3.9 percentage point from the previous week.

The rate by test was 6.1 percent, the same as Saturday and down 1.6 percentage points from the previous week.

Four patients were receiving Bamlanivimab infusion therapy at the surge facility in West Allis.

According to the Wisconsin Hospital Association, there were 772 total COVID-19 patients in Wisconsin hospitals on Monday, up 11 from Sunday and down 103 from last week.

An additional six patients were reported at intensive care units, for a total of 175. That was down 34 from last week.
